Purpose of The School of Leaders

The School of Leaders historically has been misunderstood by many in the 4th day.  The School of Leaders is NOT a school as we normally think of it.  The School of Leaders is NOT a place where you have to be in a position of Leadership within the Cursillo Movement to attend. In fact, quite the opposite is true.

The School of Leaders is established to be a “Community of Servants” to the Cursillistas in the Cursillo community.  The School of Leaders is to the Cursillo community what the Team is to a Cursillo weekend.

In the Leaders Talk on the weekend, we find that all of us are leaders in the environments we frequent.  The School of Leaders provides an opportunity for any and all of us to unify our efforts to evangelize these environments.

From the 2006 Leaders Manual the School of Leaders has the following purposes.

  • To promote and assure the authenticity and integrity of the Cursillo Movement in all three phases (Precursillo, Cursillo, and Postcursillo)
  • To help and to facilitate the process of the Precursillo toward the Postcursillo through the Cursillo and to channel the restlessness of those who have lived  a Cursillo in a progressive state of conversion.
  • To establish, without exercising control or dominion over groups, the function of the School of extending the basic ideas of its function and operation, and to activate the assembly without obligating them.
  • To endow the Movement's deep and heartfelt unity.
  • To equilibrate the Movement's key parts.
  • To coordinate the Movement’s axis, the leaders.

You are encouraged to participate in this very important part of the Cursillo Movement.

Christ is counting on you!
